Privacy Policy

Updated 23 October 2026

This page explains how the current website handles information when you read, search, choose a theme or share a link.

Site operator and privacy contact

Minimalist News is operated by Azeddine Dali, an individual operator based in Morocco, not through a company. Contact the operator about personal information at azeddine@dalil.dev.

Reading and searching

Your browser sends requests to Minimalist News and its hosting provider, Hostinger, to load pages, locally hosted fonts, assets and news data. Hostinger’s delivery network also serves the site. Requests necessarily expose connection information such as an IP address. Hosting access/security records may include the request URL, time, response, browser information and referrer if your browser sends one.

Search terms are sent to our own API in the request URL as you type. They are not sent to a search engine or AI provider by this application, and the application does not save a search-history database. Request URLs may appear in hosting logs. Please avoid entering personal or sensitive information in search.

Cookies and browser storage

The audited application sets no cookies and includes no advertising, analytics scripts, tracking pixels or embedded third-party media. A fresh visit does not write a theme preference. Choosing a theme saves only “dark” or “light” under the local-storage key minimalist-news-theme, so the requested appearance can be restored. This value is not sent to our server and is not used to identify you or rank news.

The saved theme has no automatic expiry; it remains until you remove it or your browser clears site data. Use the button below to remove it. Theme changes made afterwards save a new preference. Search, filters and pagination are held in the current page’s memory and are not saved to local or session storage.

Links, sharing and third parties

Publisher RSS feeds are fetched by the ingestion server, not by your browser when you read the feed. Production ingestion does not fetch full article pages. Opening a publisher or licence link sends you to that independent website, whose own privacy practices apply. Source links use a no-referrer setting.

The Share button invokes your browser/device’s share chooser with the story title and URL only when selected. Copy link writes the story URL to your clipboard only when selected. The application does not receive your contacts or chosen share recipients. Your operating system, browser and chosen sharing service may process the information you share.

Forms, logs and retention

There are no reader accounts, comments, newsletter subscriptions, payment flows or contact-submission forms in the audited application. Operational application logs record startup, generic errors and feed ingestion results. Hostinger separately provides infrastructure logs and traffic statistics; the absence of a browser analytics script does not mean there are no server-side records.

Published story/source records and private operational backups persist; there is no automatic article-retention deletion schedule. Publisher feeds supply public story text, author credits and dates, which can name people mentioned in reporting. We store this material for source discovery and attribution, not to create reader profiles.

Hostinger processes infrastructure information under its service arrangements. Its privacy information (opens in a new tab) describes the provider’s practices. The theme-storage duration described above is separate from hosting records.

Email correspondence

If you email the operator, your message includes your email address and any text or attachments you choose to send. It is used to answer or investigate your enquiry, correction, rights concern or privacy request. Messages are handled outside the website application; this website does not submit a contact form or store your correspondence in the news database.

Public mail-routing records for dalil.dev point to Hostinger’s mail servers. Your sending email service also processes the message. Opening an email link launches your mail application; it does not send a message automatically.

Purposes and your browser choices

Connection and request data are used to deliver and protect the website and diagnose errors; the theme value restores a requested display preference. No visitor profiling or automatic AI decisions about readers are implemented.

You can remove the local theme preference here without contacting anyone, or clear this site’s data using your browser settings. You can also email azeddine@dalil.dev about access to or correction of personal information, or to object to processing on legitimate grounds under Morocco’s Law 09-08. For information about complaints, see Morocco’s CNDP (opens in a new tab).
